Phew, I made it through another month of sharing time. August I will be spending most of my energies on getting our primary program perfect. We've written an outline, it's adorable and I think it will be fantastic. If any of you are interested in the word doc. of our outline, email or leave a comment and I'd be happy to email it to you.
Also, we've scheduled our next primary activity. It's going to be a Primary Talent Show, on a friday evening, and we're inviting the whole ward to be an audience.
Anybody done this before? We're thinking apple cider, popcorn, licorice, stage lights and maybe cute skits by the classes.
Any other great ideas?

The talent show was a tradition in our Primary for years and my most favorite activity. But now our primary is up to 195 children and even though we kept each talent to 2 minutes per child, even running kids off the stage at 2:01, last year was desperately long and agreed by all a tradition that needs to end. Sniff.
We had display tables showcasing talents that weren't the stage performance type. And used the Sr Primary children as roving reporters, spotlighting each display during the wait between stage performances. A lot of fun for the artists and chefs to be recognized in a more personal way.

Our ward does a primary spotlight night (talent show) every year. A lot of the parents really love it. I find that it can get a little long, but all the parents love it and don't seem to mind. We also have tables set up for displays. Last year we did kind of a night of stars like a broadway theme. There was popcorn and theatre type snacks. It went over really well! In between the acts we do a spotlight on the kids that just have displays so that they have their "moment in the spotlight" as well.
So . . .wow I feel a little awkward writing a comment . . . since I feel as if you contribute a whole bunch to my life but I've nothing to give back! But I do appreciate your blog and visit it often in hopes to become better! So thank you! And on that note could you pretty please, with a delicious cherry on top, send me your program?
